Artist statement
My art has come a long way since the first time I applied paint to
canvas. Hopefully it will continue to grow until the day I am unable
to paint.
My reasons for painting however, have always been the same.
Being able to create something beautiful out of nothing has
always intrigued me. I see myself as a filter between the world I live
in and the materials laying before me. My passion to paint lies with
the ability to create a window to another world. A snapshot, of
the world, that exists through me. A world full of color and
expression. A world that has no distinction between faces, water,
hair or otherwise. I use the paint, application device and the material
to be painted upon, as merely an extension of what I am feeling.
The colors represent a thought to what lies in the painting. I have
been inspired by color. I like to know that colors can control a
painting. A red shirt can represent something completely different
than a blue shirt. Why is that? This is what I strive to not answer,
but instead embrace through my art.
